Day 1.-  ( May 15- 2016)   Rucu Pichincha 4776 msnm/15669,29 ft.

Quito 2.800 m / 9186,352ft – Volcano Rucu Pichincha Summit

Being one of the closest volcano from Quito, Rucu Pichincha is one of the favourite peaks for acclimatization purposes. It towers up just above Quito; therefore the parking lot (10,827ft/3.300m) is only 15 to 20 minutes by car. From here we will ride a cable car (Teleférico), one of the highest in the world, for about 15 minutes up to the trailhead (13,451ft/4.100m). From this point, we will follow a long ridge, which will take us to the base of the summit (After traversing north, we will continue gaining altitude by hiking on sandy terrain, which will lead us to the top. Total hiking time is around 5 hours. We will travel to El Chaupi Village where we have our base camp

Day 2 .- Corazón 4788 m / 15708,66 ft

El Chaupi 3330m/ 10826,77ft – Volcano Corazon Summit

We will leave from El Chaupi Village 8:00 am early in the morning and drive for 25 minutes until to the trailhead (13,120ft/4.000m), where we start our hike. The first part of the hike takes us up through the small Andean grass. Then we will get on the sandy and scramble section, which leads to Corazon summit .We will have lunch during the hike. It’ll take us about 8 hours round trip. Return to El Chaupi by late afternoon (B,BL,D)

 Day 3.- Iliniza Norte 5126m/16817,597Ft

El Chaupi 3330m/ 10826,77ft - Volcano Iliniza Norte Summit

The climb takes approx. 6 hours going up to a height of 5126m (16817 ft). It is important that you are prepared for this kind of altitude, we recommend acclimatizing at least two days around 3000m (9842 ft).

We will star 7:30 am in the morning and drive until to “La Virgen parking lot” (12,795ft/3.900m). Once there, we will start a 3-hour hike up to the “Nuevos Horizontes Hut” (15,580ft/4.750m). We will relax for 15 minutes then continue hiking up towards the saddle formed between both peaks and then to Illiniza Norte summit .The approach to the top involves an easy 3-hour scrambling. Once at the summit, we will enjoy and admire the beautiful surroundings. The return back to the refuge will be done in about 2 hours until to the parking lot. And retun to Andes Alpes café Mountaineering hut. (D;BL:D)

Day 4.- Cayambe Refuge 4600m/ 15091,86ft

El Chaupi 3330m/ 10826,77ft - Ruales Oleas Cayambe Refuge

We will leave from El Chaupi 10:00am in the morning and will drive north through the Avenue of the Volcanoes until we get to the town of Cayambe. This drive will take us around 2:30 hours. From there we still have to drive for another hour to the Ruales Oleas Berge refuge (15,091ft/4.600m). In the afternoon we will head up to the glacier for ice practices and training. We will learn some basic techniques, which include last but not least proper handling of the climbing equipment (crampons, ice axe, rope, etc). We will go back to the Refuge for dinner and rest (B;BL/D)

Day 5.- Cayambe 5790m/ 18996,06ft

Ruales Oleas Cayambe Refuge – Volcano Cayambe SummitBanos

We will wake up at midnight and depart to the top. Around 1 am after a light breakfast. The ascent takes about 6 to 7 hours. Once at the summit we will take our time for pictures of the surroundings, and then we will head back to the refuge in 2 to 3 hours. At the refuge we will rest, pack our belongings and Travel to Banos for relax at the hot sprints pool.

Day 6.- (May 20 – 2016) Banos 1820m/5971,129ft

Banos relax day

Beautiful waterfals and lush forest surround the tranquil town of Baños. We begin the day with a cable car ride through the trees. Then we visit the famous natural hot springs for a swim. And finally the day wouldn't be complete without watching Tungurahua Volcano live (volcano) eruptions (from a safe distance of course).These are the options that can make travelers on the relaxing day.

Day 7.- (May 21 – 2016) Chimborazo Refuge 4800m/15748,03ft

Baños – Hermanos Carrel Chimborazo refuge

We will drive from baños town towards the city of Ambato (8,858ft/2,700m) through the Avenue of the Volcanoes for about 5 hours until we get to the Chimborazo`s reserve. We will walk up from Hermanos Carrel refuge (15,744ft/4,800m) for about an hour to the Whimper’s Refuge (16,400ft/5.000m), where we will have dinner and get some rest until 11 pm. There will be an early light breakfast served just before we get our gear ready and start hiking up (BL/D)

Day 8.- Chimborazo 6310 m/20702,1 ft.

Hermanos Carrel Chimborazo refuge – Chimborazo Summit – Quito

At midnight, we will start our climb to the top of Ecuador’s highest mountain, Chimborazo, which will take us about 8 to 10 hours. We will get to the top (20,702ft/6.310m) early in the morning. It is a perfect place for resting and pictures of the beautiful Andean surroundings. After some rest, we will start our descending to the Refuge. It will take us 3 to 4 hours. Once in “Whymper Refuge” we will pack our gear and go down to “Hermanos Carrel Refuge”, where our transportation will be ready to take us back to Quito.
