Let us show you the best of Quito on this full day group tour.

We will meet you at 8 AM on your hotel for a day of exploring Quito and surroundings.

Once the group is complete, we will leave to find Pululahua, this dormant volcano is one of two volcanoes worldwide that actually houses a complete village in its crater! After enjoying the views into the valley created by the latest eruption (about 2.200 years ago) we ontinue our way to Inti Nan. This ethnich folclore museum can be find right on the Equator and not only is it home to a great exposition of the various indigenous groups living in Ecuador, it is alo the place to get involved in some experiments said only to be possible right on the Equator like balancing an egg on a nail (!).

Going further south and back to Quito we will stop at the Teleferico, a cable car takes up on the volcano Pichincha and we will go from approximately 3.045 meters (9.990 ft.) to 4.100 meters (13.123 ft.) in about 8 – 20 minutes. This is, especially on a clear day, an excellent opportuniy to see the whole of Quito, a city build in a valley and around 80 km. (or 50 miles) long. Even better though is the view of the “Avenue of Volcanoes”. Be prepared to see for instance Cotopaxi, Antisana, Chimborazo, Imbabura, Cotacachi, Ruminahui, Corazon, and many more!

We will make a  stop for lunch (not included but for $10 per person extra it can be arranged) before heading to the colonial city centre. As the first UNESCO World Herritage Site the historic centre has much to offer from cobblestone streets to impressive churches and plazas. Our walking tour of the city centre begins in La Ronda with its charming houses and many workshops. Via Plaza de San Francisco with the convent built in 1535 we walk towards Compania de Jesus ( the Golden Church). This church is renowned for its abundant use of leave gold, over 7 tons is used on the inside to decorate the church! Close by we will find Plaza de la Independencia with the Archbishop’s Palace as well as the Presidential Palace. The walking tour ends at the Basilica, a neo-gothic structure based on the Notre Dame in Paris.
