Our group recently hired Andres for guided tours in each of Quito and Guayacil. In each city, he elegantly programmed a tour combining art, architecture, food and fun neighborhoods. We loved how he balanced explanation of historical vignettes with walks through vibrant neighborhoods and markets. We felt that our time with him was highly personalized based on our interests (which were quite varied). Not your every day guide. A great guy with plenty of his country’s culture to share!
I had the great pleasure of spending 2 days with Juan Carlos on a private tour last week in and around Quito. We covered quite a lot of ground in 2 days, including the Volcano, Equator line (did some cool experiments, balanced an egg on a nail and had a tour), stopped for AMAZING empanadas, Quito old city + chocolate tasting, saw the fruit/veggie market, got a cleansing from a Shaman (so cool!) Day 2: Otavalo market, amazing weavers and musicians, and capped off with a lunch at an incredible hacienda. He speaks amazing english and is so knowledgable. I highly recommend JC and Tour Guide Ecuador. I can’t wait to plan my next trip back to Ecuador - they will most definitely be a part of it.
