We were very lucky on our first day in Quito to meet an Ecuadorian who recommended the best tour guide in the country. She put us in touch with Juan Carlos and we arranged three tours with him out of Quito. We worked out the itineraries with him. He asked us many questions about what we wanted to see and what our interests were and he tailored three fantastic days for us. We did not get just a “canned” or tired tour; we got the best and freshest.
Juan Carlos is very knowledgeable about Ecuador, its history, its ecosystems, its fauna and flora. We learned, saw and experienced so much on our crafted tours. Juan Carlos gave us a wonderful introduction to the beauty of Ecuador, the hospitality of its people, and the exquisite food. Our tours were an awesome and fun way to explore Ecuador.
We also visited Cuenca and Juan Carlos arranged for a colleague to take us on a day trip. Juan, our guide in Cuenca, was also very excellent.
I would highly recommend Juan Carlos and his tour company to anyone who is serious about learning and enjoying the wonderful country of Ecuador.
