We were so fortunate to have found the delightful Juan Carlos to help us explore Quito. He was so knowledgeable and delightful, able to give us extensive history info on the old town and the beautiful churches. We were also there on the day there is Changing of the Guards at the presidential palace with the President talking to the crowds from his balcony. We would not have known about this without Juan Carlos. He was so amenable at accommodating the tour to suit us. We enjoyed the day so much that we promptly booked him again for the following day, this time out of the city initially, to the Equator and then up to the volcano, where he introduced us to the wonderful restaurant and small hotel up there. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the botanical gardens and again he was so knowledgable as a botanist, he could tell me the names of all the wonderful orchids & bromeliads in the incredible orchid houses in the gardens.
Thoroughly recommend Juan Carlos – you could not go wrong.
