See where the famous Ecuador roses are grown.

We will meet you at your hotel around 9 AM from where we will start driving south to visit one of the many rose plantations around Quito. Ecuador is famous for its roses, although there is not a long history of growing roses for exportation, Ecuador has reached a very high standard. At the moment, roses are the third main export product of Ecuador, just following oil and bananas.

Roses from Ecuador are known to have long stems and to stay fresh for weeks. Recently a new system has been introduced in creating multi-color roses. You will find here standard roses but also many where each leaf of the flower has a different color! Rainbow Roses!

The plantation we visit today works based on ecological and sustainable principles, ensuring that the final product (the rose) is one of the best you will be able to find in the world! During your visit, you will receive a tour of the plantation with explanations about the whole process of growing roses at a high altitude.

After the plantation we will continue for a short drive to one of the oldest haciendas of Ecuador, La Cienega (in operation since 1665!) which has various legends about being haunted. Here you will be able to enjoy lunch in the garden or at the fireplace before heading back to Quito.

Scheduled tour bookings are not confirmed until payment is received ( by Credit card, Paypal, or wire transfer bank*).

In any event, Tour Guide Ecuador strongly advises you to take out travel insurance. It’s well worth the peace of mind.

We always suggest a call, email, or text the day before your tour to ensure all your details are as they should be. It is not obligatory, but it helps.

If confirmed standard departure tour bookings are canceled the following fees apply:

More than 7 days in advance – 10% of the original fee.

3-7 days in advance – 50% of tour cost.

Within 72 hours of commencement – refunds will not be available.

If changes are made more than 6 days before the original booking there is no charge. The rebooked date must be within 2 months.
